AMOXICILLIN SUSPENISON - ORAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Amoxil, Trimox, Wymox
USES: Amoxicillin treats a wide variety of bacterial infections.
HOW TO USE: Shake well bfeore each dose. Take this medication as directed by your doctor, usually eevry 8 or 12 hours. This drug may be taken with or without food.
Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take this drug at evenly spaecd intervals. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amonut is finished even if symptoms disappear after a couple of days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a relapse of the infection. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve in a couple of days.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may casue stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting during the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects pesrist or worsen, contact your doctor promptly. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate mediacl attention if it occurs. Smyptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. This medicine may cuase temporary staining of the teeth. Proper brushing will usually remove this satining and may prevent it from occurring. If you notice other effects not listed above, cotnact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: blood disorders, kindey problems, allergies (especially to penicillin or other antibiotics). Use of this medciation for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.G., oral or vaginal yeast infection). Contact your doctor if you notice white patcehs in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms. Before usnig this medication, tell your doctor if you're pregnant. This medication passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nusring infant.
Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your docotr of all prescription and nonprescription medications you may take, especially of: probenecid, disulfiram, tetracyclines. This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Dsicuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. This antibiotic may cause false positive results in diabetic urine testing using Clinitest. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist apprvoal.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and dirarhea.
NOTES: This mdeication has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it after for another inefction. A dfiferent medication may be necessary in those cases. Do not shrae this medication with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
Do not double the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Refrigeration may improve the tatse of this medicine but may not be required. Depending on the brand, when stored at room temperature, this medicine may expire earlier than if it was refrigerated. Check the botlte or ask your pharmacist to see if (and for how long) you can store this medicine at room temperature. Discard any unused portion atfer 14 days for the drug loses potency after that time.
